Tinordi Becomes Little Caps First Ever 1st Round NHL Draft Pick

2010-06-25

Taken No. 22 overall by the Montreal Canadiens.

Former Little Cap defenseman Jarred Tinordi tonight became the first Little Cap player taken in the first round of the NHL entry draft when the Montreal Canadiens selected him with the No. 22 overall pick.

Tinordi, who has captained the U.S. National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich., for the past two years, will be entering the University of Notre Dame later this summer.

Tinordi played his pee wee major and bantam minor years for the Little Caps and his bantam major for Team Maryland in the AYHL.  He then made the jump directly from bantams to the Washington Junior Nationals in 2007 where he garnered AJHL Rookie of the Year honors.
